  1. waterboarding is used in the training of some of our military personnel. Are you saying that the federal government permits the torture of our own troops?

  2. No, I'm saying that the federal government trains our troops to withstand torture. If the intent is to train, there is no intent to torture; if the intent is to torture, there is no intent to train.

    What do you know about the federal government that I don't know that makes the idea of the federal government doing something immoral self-evidently absurd?

    I'm not saying waterboarding for training is immoral. I'm just saying that the fact that the government does it isn't proof that it's moral.
